UPDATE, Wednesday, October 31:
Our hearts go out to those in our Stratton family who were so directly impacted by the horrific storm.
Here at Stratton, the storm hit with 2.3” inches of rain and heavy winds that lasted into Tuesday. Thanks to the work of the team on the mountain we were well prepared, and we are relieved to report that no serious damage occurred and most importantly, no injuries.
October 29:
Our thoughts are with all our friends and family as Hurricane Sandy heads up the coast and into the Mid-Atlantic and New England.
Vermont is expecting wind gusts of up to 65 mph and 2-4 inches of rain from Hurricane Sandy. A team of operations, safety and medical support will be stationed at the resort throughout the next few days and have taken measures to secure properties. We have, however, suspended resort services until Wednesday morning for the safety of our employees and guests.
In case of an emergency, call 802-297-2200 to reach an operator at the resort. For information about road conditions, emergency resources and weather updates, visit the Vermont Department of Transportation.
We will update this blog on Wednesday morning. In the interim, we have asked our Stratton team to head home so they too can prepare for the storm and stay safe as it passes through.
Please note that early booking deadlines for lodging will be extended beyond October 31.
