Snowmakers are back in action! Temperatures dipped overnight and the team was out in force working their magic. By mid-afternoon on Tuesday, clearing skies brought a short warm spurt to an end and temps dropped enough to
get our massive snowmaking system cranked up again.
We focused on
adding depth to our upper mountain trails and filling in key areas at mid-mountain making our
planned opening day scheduled for November 21 looking great!
Snowmaking at the summit, November 14
We have had some great snowmaking production over the last few weeks, though for the most part, productive snowmaking temps occurred on the upper half of the mountain. While our goal is to provide top-to-bottom skiing & riding as soon as possible, we still feel that it’s
important to provide the best conditions possible, even if it means opening only upper mountain terrain. So far, our snowmaking opportunities have been relatively short and at higher altitudes,
but as soon as conditions permit, we will move to the lower half of the mountain and shift our focus to putting some snow down on the lower mountain trails.
As of Wednesday morning, our snowy trails include Black Bear, Grizzly Bear, Polar Bear, Frank’s Fall Line, and Old No. 8, trails that will give us
nice terrain for the beginning of the season and good lift access.
We cannot wait to see you for the first turns, and hope you'll
join us to celebrate the beginning of a great season!
