Ski resorts with no snow… I bet you’re thinking how fun could that really be, but they’re actually incredible destinations, especially when you’re there for a wedding! Gone are the snow and ski boots, replaced by vibrant greenery, stunning mountain views, and a surprising array of activities. If you’re heading to a wedding at Stratton, here’s how to make a full weekend out of it.
Friday: Settle In and Sweet Treats
After your journey, the first order of business is getting settled.
- Check into your condo and get situated! Having a comfortable home base for the weekend is key. We love staying in condos as it feels like you have your own home away from home. If you are looking for a more affordable place to stay Black Bear Lodge is a steal.
- If you’re hungry like us, you’ll want to plan for some dinner before or when you get here! If you want to feul up before you get here our main pick is Honey Pie, a classy burger joint located in an old gas station with burgers ground fresh daily! We also love Green Apron, our restaurant at the Golf Course, it has stunning mountain views and is a great way to welcome you to the mountains.
- As evening falls, gather around for some classic resort fun. Have a fire in the Commons with s’mores. It’s a fantastic way to unwind, socialize, and embrace the mountain air.
- Pro tip: If you call the Front Desk they can have one of their caretakers light and stock the fire for you, so all you have to do is sit back and enjoy!

Saturday: Relaxation, Entertainment, and Celebration
Before the wedding festivities begin, take some time to enjoy the resort’s amenities.
- Check out the Fitness Center – take it easy with a sauna, dip in the indoor pool and a massage or test your skills with a tennis or pickleball clinic.
- Enjoy the spa area. Every condo building at Stratton has some type of spa feature, wether it’s a pool, hot tub or sauna there is something for everyone.
- Pro tip: If you stay in Long Trail North then you have access to 2 outdoor hot tubs, an outdoor heated pool and a sauna! Its like a mini spa in your building.
- In the afternoon or early evening, check out the resort’s entertainment options. Stratton is proud to host concerts or free movie screenings in the base area, and you can often find free live music in the village. It’s a great way to soak in the atmosphere.
- Of course, Saturday is also about celebrating the happy couple! Enjoy the wedding ceremony and reception, knowing you’ve already made the most of your mountain getaway.

Sunday: Scenic Views and Delicious Bites
Before you head home, squeeze in some last-minute mountain experiences.
- Get breakfast at Benedicts. Fuel up with a delicious meal before your final activities. The outdoor patio that looks right up onto the Mountain is quite special.
- Go for a scenic gondola ride. This is a must-do! Even without snow, the views from the top of a ski resort mountain in the summer are absolutely breathtaking. It’s the perfect way to cap off your weekend.
- Pro tip: If you are looking for an easy hike with great views, you can take the Gondola up to the summit and then walk the .75 miles to the Firetower Trail. The views are incredible espically given the easy trail to get there!

Attending a summer wedding at a ski resort is truly a unique experience. With a little planning, you can turn a special occasion into a memorable mountain escape. What part of a summer ski resort getaway sounds most appealing to you?
