Plans This Weekend: Memorial Day

The mountains are green again which means it is time to kick off summer. Insider tip: the mountains are just as good in the summer as they are in the winter, if not better.

If you’re planning on visiting Stratton and the Green Mountains over Memorial Day, there’s plenty to keep you occupied.

Friday

Hit the trail! Southern Vermont has some of the best hiking around, thanks to the confluence of the Appalachian and Long Trails. Explore Lye Brook Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in the state, or meander around Stratton Pond.

Saturday

Sweat it out at Stratton with a family friendly color run. This short run will take participants through the base area with colorful powder stations throughout. For registration please visit www.stratton.com.

Sunday

Start your day with your four-legged friend on a hike to mid-mountain courtesy of The North Face in Stratton Village. At 7 p.m., head to the base area for a free concert from the Eagles Experience, and celebrate the official start of summer and Stratton Mountain Music.

Monday

Enjoy the extra day of the weekend with mid-mountain yoga presented by Lole Stratton to raise money for Vermont Special Olympics. If you’d prefer to work on your swing, plays Stratton Mountain Golf’s challening 27-hole course, or enjoy a morning tennis clinic from Clif Drysdale.
