ALTERRA MOUNTAIN COMPANY NAMES NEW PRESIDENT & COO OF STRATTON IN VERMONT

Denver, Colorado – October 10, 2023Alterra Mountain Company announces that Matt Jones has been named the new President & COO of Stratton, effective October 30, 2023, and will report to Regional Chief Operating Officer, Patrice Malo. Matt will be responsible for overseeing all operations and enhancing both the employee and guest experience, continuing to build and strengthen community relationships, and drive profitability of the destination.

Matt comes to Stratton with 25 years of industry experience, most recently as the Vice President and General Manager of Kirkwood Mountain Resort in California. Previous to that, he held various roles at Vail Resorts including a decade on the Vail Mountain Senior Leadership Team as the Director of Human Resources. Before moving to Kirkwood, Jones served as Vice President of Human Resources overseeing Vail’s Colorado resorts and employee housing initiatives. Matt has also served on several boards, including the Executive Committee of the Ski California Board and Chair of the Emergency Grants Committee for the Epic Promise Foundation serving employees of Vail Resorts.

Stratton recently invested nearly $7 million for the 23/24 winter season, enhancing multiple facets of the guest and employee experience with a reimagined beginner area and new RFID gates to ease access to all major lift terminals.
