Stratton Seasonal Program Blog – March ’25 Edition

Hello Everyone,

As we near the end of another incredible season, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for your continued support and enthusiasm for our programs and resort. Our seasonal programs are truly one of a kind, and I feel incredibly lucky to work alongside such a dedicated team of supervisors and coaches. Thank you for being a part of it all!

March Events

While the season may be winding down, the excitement is far from over! We have plenty of fantastic events lined up that you won’t want to miss.

For a full list of our seasonal events, be sure to check out our Stratton Seasonal Program Blog – Events Calendar. In addition to our program-specific activities, we have a lot of resort-wide activities happening throughout the rest of the season. You can find more detailed information on the Spring Events at Stratton blog. I’ve highlighted a few of the biggest events below as well:

  • 24 Hours of Stratton – March 15-16
The 12th Annual 24 Hours of Stratton is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to ride Stratton at night under lighted trails into sunrise. Join in camaraderie with hundreds of winter enthusiasts from across New England for a magical weekend of fun-filled activities, fireworks, food, and charity. The event bib is your two-day and night access to riding lifts for an exhilarating amount of time. It’s Snow much of a good thing for all ages and abilities. The #Shred4Nate alpine slalom race for mental health and suicide prevention is also on Saturday. Do one or do both events!
  • Homesick – March 21-23
In collaboration with East Street Archives, we’re celebrating the rich history and evolution of a sport that got its start right here at Stratton.
  • Annual Pond Skim – March 30
Test your skills (and luck) at skimming across the pond—try to make it to the other side without taking a dip!

Thanking Your Coaches

Many of you have asked how to show appreciation for your child’s coach. While gratuity is not required, it is greatly appreciated. Most families tip 15-20% of the program’s cost per child, which can be given directly to the coach at the end of the season.

If you’ve already wrapped up your season but would still like to thank your coach, or if your coach has finished for the year, feel free to reach out to me—I’d be happy to help facilitate.

Note: Cub Club follows a different gratuity system—please connect with Matt or Kristi for details.

Looking Ahead: Next Winter & Program Trials

As we start planning for next season, many of you have reached out with questions about the best program fit for your child. Before we connect, I recommend speaking with your child’s coach or program supervisor to get their insight on next steps.

If your child is interested in transitioning to a competitive program (Alpine Racing or Allegro/Freestyle/Freeski) next season, please contact the appropriate SWSC manager.

Here is their contact info:

Synergy

Dear Synergy Family,

Wow—what a season! First and foremost, a HUGE thank you to all of you—students, parents, family members, and of course, the beloved puppers—for making the 24/25 ski season truly unforgettable. Our Synergy coaches couldn’t be prouder of the growth, determination, and all-around awesomeness we’ve seen on the slopes this year.

Mother Nature gave us an incredible season, and we made the most of every turn, every challenge, and every laugh along the way. And let’s talk about that Parent vs. Child Race—wow! The skills on display were next level (parents, no hard feelings, right?). If there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that East Coast skiers are TOUGH—and this crew can handle anything!

March Celebrations! 🎉

We’ve had so much fun celebrating the end of the season with you! The Pizza Party and Onesie day were so much fun! We’ve got one more special event planned:

🔎 Sunday, March 17Scavenger Hunt! Get ready for a fun-filled adventure to close out the season with a bang.

Looking Ahead

We’re always looking for ways to make Synergy even better, so if you have suggestions, ideas, or feedback, send them my way or reach out to Tony. Your input means the world to us, and we appreciate your support in making this program the best it can be!

Once again, THANK YOU for an incredible season! Wishing you all a safe, fun-filled off-season and the best of luck on your next adventures. Until we hit the slopes again…

With gratitude and big mountain vibes,

Sarah Kneip (and Waffles 🐧)

AAMP

Greetings AAMPers,

The snow continues to please so I thought is a good idea to include a poster I recently saw that summed up why we do this and a little about the ski lessons.

Below is a picture of the AAMPer ladies all enjoying the fabulous snow and taking a break from some of the frigid cold!

The last few weeks have been so much fun re-visiting our edging and rotary (leg steering) skills on a lot of new terrain. The abundant snow enabling us to venture into terrain that is not available all that often! Over the next few weeks we will “blend” skills to achieve different outcomes. Skill blending is great fun!

Keep an eye out for a new clinic we will be offering to AAMPers that have the CARV device. On the weekend of March 22, we will look at using the CARV tool to enhance our skiing by learning how to interpret the data it provides.

Our February 22 social was well attended and enjoyed by all. Mark your calendars for our next pizza social on Saturday March 22nd!

Well that’s all for now folks!

Best regards,

Greg Morin
